We are devastated to report the unexpected demise of Kim Bierle Pierre SD. Yes, you read that right, Kim Bierle is no longer alive. She has passed away. Kim Bierle was a beloved volleyball coach based in Pierre, South Dakota.
As per the information, coach Kim Bierle passed away after fighting a courageous battle for a long time with cancer. Her medical cause of death is reported to be cancer. On Wednesday, 5th March 2025, Kim Bierle breathed her last surrounded by loved ones.
The news of Kim Bierle’s death was authenticated and conveyed by Peirre Governer Volleyball through a heartfelt Facebook post that reads “It is with great sadness that we inform the Governor faithful that today we have lost one of the best coaches, mentors, teachers and friends, Kim Bierle. Coach Bierle passed away today surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Rest easy cowgirl, we’ll take it from here.”
Upon hearing about the demise of coach Bierle, Bobbie Ziegler wrote “I learned the news this early evening, as I sat and remembered Kim the tears fell… Rest in peace my friend, Coach Kim Bierle! Kim was my teacher and coach in high school! Basketball and volleyball… Crow Creek Lady Chieftains… She was one of the best! No matter the time that past, every time we saw each other we would start where we left off. We would joke and laugh. I always made sure her and Deb knew they were old “er”, lol… This lady will be missed by so many. I know she touched the lives of my family and many others.”
Riggs High School Hall of Fame inductees are Kim Bierle and the 1991 State Girls Basketball Champions. Coach Bierle has coached for 38 years with 32 years in Pierre. The 1991 Lady Govs entered the state tournament with a 9-12 record and were the seventh seed. Their margin for victory for the entire tournament was six points.
Kim Bierle’s obituary is said to come along with her funeral and celebration of life details very soon.
